In the wild only primitive cooking is possible

They will need to learn some primitive cooking skills if they plan to survive. They will need to boil water with hot rocks, cook on a flat rock instead of a frying pan and bake in a pit in the ground instead of an oven.

Accomplishing a decent meal in the wilderness is quite a feat, as you are usually missing all the essentials, such as spices and other ingredients. This is where you have to become inventive, substituting what the recipe says with what you have. Though Brad has put a few of his recipes online he realises that he will not be able to stick to them, once they are on their wilderness trip.This will sorely test his skills as a cook and woodsman. We are all waiting expectantly for his stories when he comes back to join us in civilisation.

Primitive Cooking in the bush is not the same cooking at home in the kitchen. If all you have for starters is a knife you will have to make your own cooking utensils and pots.
This on top of hunting and collecting your own meal and making fire under primitive conditions.
